Fixing error on ASC after the first of the year indicating wrong summer/winter time configuration


 

 

Symptom:

After the first of the year, the ASC Pro/Advanced/Compact comes up with an error message indicating wrong summer/winter time configuration.

 
Solution:
Anytime in the first week of January, enter new summer and wintertime daylight savings time settings. This will take care of the error and also change time at the appropriate months during the year. The procedure to change time is as follows:
 
The steps mentioned are to be taken on the recorder directly and not through the software on the PC.
 
1.         Login using ‘1’ as user name and ‘1234’ as password (press F1 for login) 
2.         Eject Standby DVD
 
3.         Eject Recording DVD (print label also)
 
4.         On the bottom left, press F3 for ‘Configuration’
 
5.         Press ‘’ three times to choose ‘System’ and press F1 for ‘Configuration’
 
6.         Press ‘’ four times to choose ‘Date/Time’ and press F1 for ‘Configuration’
 
7.         Change summer (2nd row) and wintertime (3rd row) start dates (09-03-2008 for summer and 02-11-2008 for winter)

8.         Click on ‘Set Time (F4)’ at the bottom of this new window
 
9.         If any question is asked at this point, choose ‘YES’
 
10.     Press ‘Save (F2)’
 
11.     If any question is asked at this point, choose ‘YES’
 
12.     Insert Blank DVD in slot A and wait until ‘Recording’ sign displays on the screen
 
13.     Insert Blank DVD in slot B and wait until ‘standby’ sign displays on the screen 
14.     Press ‘MENU’
 
15.     Press ‘’ seven times to choose ‘logout’
 
16.     Press ‘ENTER’
 
17.     Press ‘ENTER’
